Hi! I'm Hannah the owner and founder of The Velvet Leash.

Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up surrounded by pets, I've always had a natural love for animals and a genuine appreciation for the companionship, comfort, and joy they bring into our lives.
​
My professional background took me into a different direction. I hold a bachelor's degree in nutrition science, Health Management, and a master's degree in public health. I spent many years working in a variety of roles and organizations within those fields. I loved the work and people I had the opportunity to serve, but eventually found myself wanting to do something different- something that felt more personal and truly made my heart happy.

When my daughter left for college, I decided it was time to pursue something I have always loved: working with animals. What began as a longtime passion helping friends and family has grown into a full-time commitment to caring for the pets and families who trust me with their furry family members.

That's how The Velvet Leash came to life.
​
I believe pet care is more than simply a walk or drop-in. It's about trust, attention, and knowing that your pet is being cared for with the same thoughtfulness and love you would give them yourself. My goal is to give you something just as valuable as the care I provide your pet: peace of mind while you're away.

Whether you're traveling, working a long day, have a special event, or simply need someone to give your pup some extra love and attention, I'm here to help.
